Trail to Eagle

Home: Welcome

Project at a Glance

I have been in Scouting since 1st Grade (2010).  I started as a Bobcat in Cub Scouts and after 9 years in Scouting, I am now working on my Eagle Rank with Troop 319 in Jacksonville, NC.  My final requirement to earn Eagle is to complete an Eagle Project.  This requires me to plan out a project, recruit volunteers, acquire the materials, and act as the foreman of the project.

In conjunction with the City of Jacksonville, I am fixing up a running trail in the Jacksonville Commons area and adding a fitness workout station to be purchased from Fitness Trails America. This project will be beneficial to both visitors and local residents as an outdoor exercise area. Part of the already existing running trail in the area was taken out by the new Publix shopping center. My project will allow people to use a different trail and work out there if they so choose.

Thanks to the generous donations of family, friends, and local businesses, over $17,000 was donated to purchase equipment and instructional signs. 14 pieces of exercise equipment have been delivered and are being assembled for installation the week of November 10, weather permitting.

A special thank you to those who participated in any of the three workdays I have had so far. Your support has been greatly appreciated!
